Emerging among the big players.
"Every great journey begins with a single step". We will soon be celebrating our second birthday and the efforts of taking the first step took us straight to Success Avenue. You are a part of this great journey so let me tell you more about the great features we bring you these months.
First of all, these two years were a great success for all of us. Not only for the agency but all members represented by Dreamstime®. More and more buyers realized our full potential and moved or are moving their main accounts with our agency, while many photographers involve on a full time basis now. Our agency's vision will continue to focus a major development towards providing great resources to its most important asset: the community members.
We will continue to analyze the market's needs and to meet the members' demands by providing quality services. We are an independent agency, so we make no compromises when it comes to quality: we know what our clients need and we want to give them what they desire using all our available resources.
What we present to you now is not just a prediction of our growth in the next year but an engagement that we commit ourselves to meet. This plan was elaborated based on our experience in the last two years and your very own suggestions. We have taken the time to hear everybody's opinion, to see the patterns and path one follows in his/her relationship with Dreamstime® and to develop a plan that will meet all needs. Keep in mind that all requests were analyzed and we will implement all the ones that were technically possible and suited for our strategy.
What we propose is to reach 1,000,000 images online at our 3rd anniversary. A placement in Top 10 Stock Agencies on the 3rd place is our goal when it comes to traffic. These are not plain figures: they will strengthen our agency's position in stock photography.
New design and layout
As you can see, a new layout is available. We have redesigned it, in order to provide you with a more appealing, yet accessible website. The vertical navigation bar that used to fill the left side of the screen was integrated with the top menus that populated the old version. It resulted in a powerful navigation tool placed on the top of the screen, giving you easy access to the four important categories. Accessing the secondary links of these categories happens without refreshing the page, so the entire site is just two clicks away.
The homepage was split into four sections: Welcome (default), Latest, Popular, Stats & Community. They embrace the content of the previous homepage while new features were added. Upon your next visit both the homepage section and the navigation section will display the information you requested when you left the site last time.
I will leave you the pleasure to discover the content of these four pages as well as the new member page.
Advanced Search – the DreamFinder™
DreamFinder™ is a unique feature in the industry, enabling the user to refine a search using a complete set of tools and exclusion criteria. The selection is not only keyword-based but also on other criteria, such as image properties, orientation, category etc.
A complete session log is available for an accurate reference and easy access to the previous searches. It provides not only a list of keywords but full details about your selection.

New prices and resolution
Active after March 15, new prices will be in place. While the photographers will enjoy higher commissions, the agency will take the burden of the price increase by providing a higher discount to designers as well as a new subscription package.
When these new prices and commission fees will be in place, we will introduce the need to keep a file up for at least 12 months since the acceptance date. This will allow us to promote these images and enough time to reach our markets.
Subscription plan
We will be the only top agency that provides a subscription system next to our current pay per image plans in the same site. For only $300 a designer can download up to 600 images per month, up to 20 per day, with a bonus of 100% compared to the regular credits packages.
The photographer will receive the same commission, an unbeatable 50% from the price level, therefore the true commission is at least 100%. If you consider the price of level 2 images, this makes us the agency that works for its photographers, but old members already know this.
We reserve the right to adjust the bonus depending on the feedback we receive.
Exclusivity – exclusive photographers and/or exclusive images
Because our community already involves photographers that work exclusively with us, there is a need to reward them. We also want to establish a unique niche of talented photographers.
A photographer can choose to become exclusively represented by Dreamstime® and receive 60% from all sales he makes. We will also reward the submissions of exclusive photographers with $0.20 per accepted upload. This means that you can make $100 only by uploading 500 high quality images. With the current amount limit in place, it will mean only 5 days of upload.
We didn't forget photographers that cannot be exclusive at this time. If you upload exclusive images, you will not be rewarded per upload but will still receive a 60% commission fee.
New licenses
Entering the world of Rights Managed, two new licenses will be available for our photo buyers after the middle of March.
A photographer can choose to provide these new licenses or keep just the regular Royalty Free license. They will have control at any time about enabling an extra license or disabling it.
SR license – sell the rights
Introduced by our assignments, the SR license has no new terms for photographers as it is for our designers.
Designers will be able to acquire exclusive rights over an image on an undetermined time interval. The contract will bound the photographer to disable the image and our database will stop publishing it immediately after the designer has selected it.
Proper usage requests as well as all needed terms will be mentioned in the contract. The designer will use the image exclusively with just a few restrictions: the image usage has to be according to our terms about sensitive subjects, they cannot resell the image nor claim it was created by them.
The prices for this unique feature are yet to be announced. Their range will vary between hundreds and thousands of dollars in order to compensate its absence from photographer's portfolio and the site's database and will correlate image sales, photographer's popularity and other factors.
EL license – extended license
This type of license will be of high demand in the design community. Although, these two licenses are not as popular as our regular RF license, the earnings they can bring to a photographer will be significant as new markets will be reached this way.
If selected by the photographer, the extended licenses will provide a higher number of allowed copies for the regular RF license, or the rights to use images in (W) web templates or (P) resold physical items that incorporate our images in essential manner: tshirts, caps, mousepads.

Great Job done... very slick and professional. And my compliments on being able to payout a handsome commission to the contributors.

All pages of the site have been adjusted so until we transfer everything, some disfunctions may appear as well as interruptions in services.
We try to minimize all problems but consider that the transfer is not fully completed yet. |

Everything is absolutely incredible, from the new design to the pricing structure!!! What a thrill to be here. Combine the new site with the amazing ads in Print and How, and....well, it's all a dream come true:-)
FYI, Safari seems to be having some problems at the moment, but it's with all web sites. Everything is fast and efficient on Firefox. |
