My trusty Kodak is showing its age. The 4 way menu button no longer scrolls up unless I put 1000 pounds pressure on it. I have already busted a fingernail. Repair will cost me $150. I can get a reconditioned Kodak 5 MP camera for $219 with free S&H. Anyone here have experience with reconditioned cameras? I hope that reconditioned cameras have the same warranty and quality as brand new. One guy over at ******** said I should ditch the Kodak brand and get a Nikon Coolpix or Canon Power Shot. He said the putting a 5MP sensor on Kodak compact will increase noise and artifacts. I like the Kodak cameras since they are very compact and I can stick them into a jacket pocket or even a blue jeans pocket. I think most of the people here are shooting with some good cameras.

I used Kodak before, was very satisfied with it, but the nikon cp is a huge difference when it comes to lens and potential.
If you're looking for compact, I think Canon is better. Nikon has a bigger size but better lenses. This is a long discussionsand often photo debates end arguing about whcih one is better.
You should decide the advantages or lacks each of them has, depending on your style of shooting. Once you decided, be aware that you will probably use the same brand for all future upgrades....this happens most often, although some users are disappointed and do the switch in the beginning.
