Perhaps I should have seen it coming. You know -- the shutterbug itch. I was always the one to share my favorite photos after a mountain bike ride. Or I’d fight jetlag by piecing together my favorite shots of my most recent international exploits…inviting friends to see. But I suspect that it was my work in marketing at Western Seminary that drew me into the world of photography. I’ve spent more hours than I can remember creating brochures, ads, and website designs in the Adobe Creative Suite. This work gave me hours to admire the photography of others, and to learn what images work for design, and which don’t. After a decade of creating layouts with other peoples’ photography, it was time to snap some of my own. It was the year I received my first DSLR for Christmas that I began my journey into photography. Admittedly, I’m still learning the ropes and enjoying the chance to grow. And I haven’t looked back…well, not unless there was a great shot to take. I hope that my work causes you to travel, to feel, and delight in this creation of which we’re all a part.
